The Feast, 2013 black ball-point pens, black ink
This one was supposed to be a quick work, as I am very busy with my studies right now. And it became more and more complex and big, and I am finally happy with the result, even if it took me more time than expected to finish.
This piece is inspired by a song which is not very good, sung by a girl which is not a very good singer (actually she's not a singer at all), but I find the lyrics quite poetic and inspiring. I had a lot of fun in re-interpreting the meaning of the lyrics, making it more personal and very far from the initial intentions of the author.

_______________________________ Blue Bird by Cassie Steele
[...] As I swim mermaids dance with me And I drown they romance with me They sing sweet little harmonies Louder and louder until I can't breath
Hey blue bird on my shoulder Can you carry me over?
I talked to blue bird, she said why walk when you can fly? She told me, baby life tastes better when you're high I said hey blue bird can you take me for a ride Leave me on a cloud, ill live with blue birds in the sky
As I walk I can feel the heat As it burns I can smell the sweet Piece by piece I am yours to feast All this pain is seducing me [...]
Pen and Ink is one of my favorite art styles, the intricate line work is a marvel to view. Non-artists can't understand, but personally, I can get lost viewing each line and how on more line in hatching might make an area too dark or too cluttered. I relish every moment I see a work as superb as this, I love this picture.
I understand exactly what you mean, pen & ink is one of my favorite art styles, and probably my favorite technique. You don't need much stuff, just a little black pen and a piece of paper, and you can create an entire world of shades... with hundreds of little lines.
